Monsieur Emile
Aged for between 14 to 21 days, Monsieur Émile is a beautiful artisan Canadian goat cheese produced using traditional farming methods from Fromagerie Ruban Bleu, one of the first cheesemakers to sell goat cheese in Québec.
In the early eighties, newly-retired city dwellers Denise Poirier and Jean-Paul Rivard bought a home in Saint-Isidore and to please their children they acquired a few goats. As the milk surplus was considerable, the couple started to produce artisanal goat cheese.
Caroline Tardif and Jean-François Hébert took over the business in 2005 and Monsieur Émile was introduced in 2009, named for cheesemaker Caroline’s great grandfather.
With a medium intensity, this goat cheese has a textured rind with a smooth and dense interior. Creamy and nutty flavours finish with a spicy endnote. Delicious on its own or pair with your favourite fruit jam for a sweet and tangy delight!
