Tomme de Savoie IGP
Tomme de Savoie is a raw milk cow's cheese from the French Savoie Mountains. Originally made by peasant families to subsist off, this is undoubtedly the oldest of the Savoie cheeses and is part of the region's economic and cultural heritage.
A cheese of delicate quality, Tomme de Savoie is mold-ripened. Its inedible rind is pleasantly earthy, with markings around the outside confirming its protected seal of certification. Inside, the semi-firm, golden-white paste has many small eyes and offers up a tasting profile that is equal parts milky, tangy & herbaceous.
Pair this French tomme with fresh sliced apples and a light, fruity Savoie wine.
