Sheep Feta (w/ Olive Oil and Herbs)
Fromagerie La Moutonnière have long been pioneers in the world of Quebec farmstead sheeps cheese. Their two-hundred ewes have free range access to naturally seeded pastures, free-flowing spring water, and are never fed with silage. On the the production side, all of their cheeses are made completely by hand, allowing for individual attention at every stage of development. Wheels are aged on-site in underground caves, ideal for maintaining the natural humidity critical to the aging process of a quality product.
Like all true farmstead producers, La Moutonnière do not standardize their cheese production, allowing seasonality to affect the composition of the milk. The result is a wide range of delicious cheeses like this fresh Feta that is bursting with flavours of the local Saint-Hélène-de-Chester terroir.
With an ivory paste that is creamy yet crumbly, this feta features fresh milk aromas with a finely spiced lactic and tangy finish, presented in olive oil and herbs. Each package comes sealed for freshness and weighs approximately 125g each.
