Celtic Blue Reserve
Internationally renowned, Glengarry Fine Cheese Co. is located right here in Eastern Ontario on the shores of the St. Lawrence River.
The fromagerie gained international notoriety in 2013 when their Aged Lankaaster Gouda took home the top prize at the Global Cheese Awards. Crowned the winner among 167 categories, it put Glengarry on the map. Today, the fromagerie produces thirty-thousand kilos of cheese annually with more than half a dozen different varieties on offer - like the approachable Celtic Blue Reserve.
Smooth and crumbly with delicate veining, this pasteurized cheese is made from the milk of Brown Swiss cows and has a unique limestone-coloured natural rind. Sweet and punchy notes of blue are softened by a rich buttermilk quality and a balanced salt, with flavours ranging from woodsy, earthy, to slightly mushroomy.
